Privacy policy

This policy covers this website, dace.sh, and the Dace waitlist. It explains what we collect when you visit or sign up, why, who helps us run it, and what you can ask us to do. Questions go to [email protected].

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we store:

• your email address;
• the jobs you picked (for example “Gifts” or “A big family trip”), if any;
• which form you used, how many times you submitted, and when;
• the page that sent you here (the referrer) and your browser’s user-agent string.

Your IP address is used for a short time to stop automated abuse of the form. It is not saved with your signup.

When you browse the site, our hosting and security providers process standard request data (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) so the site can be delivered and protected.

How we use it

• to invite you to Dace when it’s ready, and to write to you about your place on the waitlist;
• to decide what to build first, from the jobs people pick;
• to understand, in aggregate, how people find and use this site (with your consent);
• to keep the site and the form secure.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t run ads on this site.

Cookies

We ask before setting any analytics cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) sets cookies named _ga and _ga_…, which last up to two years. They tell us things like which pages were viewed, roughly where visitors are, what device they use, and when someone joined the waitlist, including which form and jobs they picked. Your email is never sent to Google.

If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. Google’s tag may still send basic signals without cookies or identifiers (for example, that a page was viewed), which Google uses in aggregate.

We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage under dace.consent. You can change it at any time: open cookie settings.

Who helps us

These providers process data on our behalf, only to run the service:

• Vercel: hosts this website.
• Cloudflare: DNS, delivery and security for dace.sh.
• DigitalOcean: the servers and database where waitlist signups are stored, in the United States.
• Google: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, as described above.
• Resend: sends our emails, such as your invitation.

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist signup until you ask us to remove it, or until we no longer need it to invite you. Analytics data is kept for a limited period set in Google Analytics.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can take yourself off the waitlist at any time. Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with and we’ll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to some uses or to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site and the waitlist are for adults. They aren’t directed at children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. For significant changes we’ll also tell people on the waitlist by email.
